|
|
|
| U 188 sichtete am 25.01.1944 einen Dampfer und lief zum Angriff an. Um 20:16 Uhr schoß Lüdden einen Torpedo auf das Schiff. Dieser Torpedo traf die Fort la Maune. Das Schiff stoppte und setzte die Rettungsboote aus. Die Fort la Maune sank um 21:02 Uhr. Es gab keine Verluste. Der Kapitän, 48 Besatzungsmitglieder und 7 Artilleristen landeten nach 14 Tagen in ihren Rettungsbooten bei Al Mukalla (Jemen).
