| Die Marine-Artillerieabteilung 506 entstand aus der Marine-Artillerieabteilung 302. Sie wurde im März 1940 aufgestellt und im Juni 1940 in Marine-Artillerie-Abteilung Drontheim umbenannt. Sie unterstand dem Kommandanten der Seeverteidigung von Drontheim und wurde im Juli 1940 in Marine-Artillerieabteilung 506 umbenannt. Sie war in drei Batterien gegliedert. 1942 fungierte die Abteilung auch als "Artillerie-Kommandeur Brettingen".
